About Page numbers

Page numbers adds numbering to every page in the style you choose: 1, Page 1, Page 1 of N, 1 / N or - 1 -. Place them in any corner or centred at the top or bottom, and start from any number.

Use it to add page numbers to a PDF, number pages in a report, or show Page 1 of N in the footer.

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF.
  2. Pick the Format, Position and First number.
  3. Adjust the Font size, Margin and Colour if needed.
  4. Press Add page numbers and download.

Good to know

  • Every page is numbered. To leave a cover page unnumbered, use Header & footer instead, which can be limited to certain pages.
  • Numbers are placed on the page as it is displayed, so they are correct on rotated pages too.

Questions and answers

Can I leave the cover page without a number?

This tool numbers every page. Use Header & footer, limit it to pages 2-, and put {n} in the slot you want: the cover stays clean and page 2 shows 2.

Can I show the total number of pages?

Yes. Choose Page 1 of N or 1 / N.

Can I change the font and size?

You can set the size and colour. The numbers use a clean bundled sans-serif font.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

Yes. The numbers are drawn on top of the page, scans included.
