Privacy policy
The short version: your documents stay on your device.
Your documents
When you open a PDF or image in PDF Toaster, it is read by code running in your browser. Editing, converting, compressing, OCR and every other tool run on your device. The contents of your files are never sent to our servers or to anyone else, and the site's security policy blocks the page from sending data to other websites.
What is stored in your browser
- Unsaved work in the editor. So you do not lose your changes if the tab closes, the editor keeps an autosave of the document you are editing in your browser's storage on this device. You can restore it next time or discard it. It never leaves your device.
- Preferences, such as light or dark mode and whether the Layers panel is open.
You can remove all of this at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
What we do not do
- We do not ask you to create an account.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not collect, read or keep the contents of your documents.
Server logs
Like any website, the servers that deliver PDF Toaster's pages may record standard technical information about each request, such as the time, the page requested, your browser type and your IP address, to keep the service running and secure. These logs never contain your documents.
