About N-up

N-up places several pages on one sheet: 2, 4, 6, 9 or 16 per page. It is the classic way to print handouts, proof long documents cheaply, or save paper when you only need an overview.

Use it to print multiple PDF pages on one sheet, make 2-up or 4-up handouts, or save paper when proofreading.

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF.
  2. Pick how many Pages per sheet you want and the Paper size.
  3. Press Make N-up and download the result.

Good to know

  • Pages are placed in reading order, left to right and top to bottom.
  • Links, bookmarks and fillable fields are not kept on the combined sheets.

Questions and answers

How many pages can I put on one sheet?

2, 4, 6, 9 or 16.

Will the text still be readable?

At 2 or 4 per sheet, almost always. At 9 or 16 the text becomes small, which suits overviews and proofs rather than reading.

Can I choose the paper size?

Yes, so the sheets fit what your printer uses.

Is the original document changed?

No. You download a new PDF; the original is left as it was.
