About Merge PDFs

Merging is for the moments when one document arrives as five: a contract and its annexes, scanned receipts for an expense claim, chapters exported one by one. Add the files, put them in order, and you get a single PDF back.

You do not have to take every page. Each file can contribute a range, such as pages 1-3 of one and only page 7 of another, so you can assemble exactly the document you need in one pass.

Use it to combine PDF files, join scanned pages into one document, or put several PDFs together before you email them.

How to use it

  1. Choose PDFs, or drop them onto the page. You can add more files at any point.
  2. Drag the files into the order you want, or use Move up and Move down.
  3. If you only need some pages from a file, type them in its Pages box (for example 1-3, 7).
  4. Press Merge and download the result, named after the first file with -merged added.

Good to know

  • Form fields and bookmarks are kept from the first file. Fields in later files are flattened into the page, so they still show their values but can no longer be filled in; you are told when this happens.
  • Password protection is not carried over to the merged file. Protect it again afterwards if you need to.
  • Files are joined on your device, so a large merge depends on your computer's memory rather than an upload limit.

Questions and answers

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

There is no fixed number. Because the work happens in your browser, the practical limit is your device's memory. Dozens of ordinary documents are fine on a typical laptop.

Can I merge only certain pages from each file?

Yes. Each file has its own Pages box. Leave it empty to include every page, or list the pages you want, such as 2-5, 9.

Will merging lower the quality of my PDFs?

No. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays text and images keep their original resolution.

Are the files I merge uploaded anywhere?

No. The files are read and combined inside your browser and never sent to a server.
