About Crop pages

Crop pages trims the margins of a PDF. Cut a fixed amount off each side, or let the tool find the content and trim to it, which is ideal for reading scanned books and wide-margin papers on a phone or e-reader.

Use it to trim PDF margins, cut white space from pages, or crop a scanned book for easier reading on a phone.

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF.
  2. Choose Cut off margins and enter how many millimetres to remove from each side, or choose Trim to the content and set the padding to keep.
  3. Check the preview frame on the first page.
  4. Press Crop and download the result.

Good to know

  • Cropping changes the visible area of each page. The trimmed content is hidden, not deleted, so do not rely on cropping to remove sensitive information; use Redact for that.
  • You can limit cropping to certain pages, such as odd or even pages of a book scan.

Questions and answers

Does cropping delete the content outside the crop?

No. It is hidden from view and printing but stays in the file. To remove something permanently, use Redact.

Can I crop all pages at once?

Yes. The crop applies to every page unless you list specific ones.

What does Trim to the content do?

It finds the area each page actually uses and trims the empty margins around it, leaving the padding you set.

Will cropping reduce the file size?

Not noticeably, because the hidden content stays in the file.
